30 maj 2021 · I keep getting the message that it cannot connect to the pop3 server. When I check the settings for my existing yahoo email account there is a difference. The outgoing mail settings have three options for authentication. I do not get any choice when setting up the new email account in Outlook.
Within POP and IMAP Account Settings, fill out Your Name and full Email Address. For Server Information, select IMAP for Account Type. Incoming mail server should be set to imap.mail.yahoo.com, and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) should be set to smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
