21 lis 2021 · Testing with the FT4X comparing its own rubber duck antenna and an X30 Antenna, and trying out the Yaesu SSM-17B speaker mic, in field conditions up on the Lancashire Moors.
The Yaesu specifics added aren't enough to make it a better product, in my opinion. However, calling it a "Baofeng" is not necessarily bad (I said that in the article as well), I think the brand (and the whole cheap Chinese radios category) is a very good thing that happened to amateur radio.
I've tried the M90 on 4 different Yaesu rigs I own, and my old MD-100 gets better reports. I've just put aside the M90.

Good price relative to other Yaesu mics. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. I've only operated my FTdx10 with the M-70 for 3 days and worked a few dx contracts during Winter Field Day. I had made a few eq setting changes for the dx10s hand mic but left them as-is when I changed to the M-70 and had very good audio reports.
