6 mar 2020 · I'm charging my phone from time to time with my console, but only if I forgot my adapter somewhere. I must admit that it does take a very long time to charge, I would say about 3 to 4 hours from about 5% to 100%, since, like others already mentioned, it's not made to charge phones.
The reason this happens is because you've tried to charge your controller play and charge kit with a power brick with a high wattage. Anything above 5 watts will eventually damage the chip and it will no longer charge correctly.
I connect the leads and trickle charge dead battery packs for 5-15 minutes on a 5 volt 1 amp power supply to see if cells are actually bad, or its just dropped below the threshold. Once you're above the threshold (check using a volt meter) you just pop it on your normal charger and let it do its job. Most new chargers test for faulty cells too ...
