I bought two of the new usb-c charge kits for both controllers the first week they were released. No issues with them really. Both work well, charge fast and keep week's worth of everyday playing. I like the fact of not having to swap batteries or messing about with them.
I found an official rechargeable battery pack, but haven't seen any official charging docks. I'm happy to get a 3rd party one as long as it's good. This is my first Xbox and I'm kinda surprised they still use batteries as standard tbh, seems pretty old fashioned.
Get an xbox battery pack charger or some rechargeable batteries and a separate charger. The "play & charge" cables are ok as a supplement, but not as your primary charging source, they overcharge when left plugged in and reduce the life of your batteries.
