Use the DPAD to go to reset this xbox. The next menu will ask you if you want to keep your games. Fingers crossed. Edit: and it worked. This is an OG Xbox One.

I will list everything I have tried first. Simple reset (hold xbox button for 10 seconds, wait a minute, turn it back on) = black screen. Hard reset: unplug everything, hold sync + eject, turn on and wait for 2nd chime. 2nd chime never comes and thus the Xbox stays on black screen.
