While some argue that reviews are easy to find, from users with verified purchases on Amazon and eBay, the expertise and quality testing that goes into the quality assurance process at Consumer Reports cannot be beaten.
Long answer: The last time I tried to use Consumer Reports to choose a product all of their recommendations had been superceded by later models. It's not their fault that models change so ridiculously fast, but it renders their ratings much less useful.
