Under Oregon’s final paycheck law, you will need to pay your employee all wages earned but unpaid by the end of the next business day after you release the employee. ORS 652.140(1). If an employee quits with less than 48 hours notice, then the final paycheck is due within 5 business days, or the next regularly scheduled payday, whichever comes first.
If an employee is fired or laid off: The final paycheck must be issued by the end of the next business day following termination. If an employee quits with at least 48 hours' notice : The final paycheck is due on their last working day.
