Warner Leroy Baxter (March 29, 1889 – May 7, 1951) was an American film actor from the 1910s to the 1940s. Baxter is known for his role as the Cisco Kid in the 1928 film In Old Arizona, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor at the 2nd Academy Awards. [1]

2 mar 2023 · Rehearsals introduced him to Winifred Bryson, of the same cast. On the day the show opened Miss Bryson became Mrs. Baxter. And Miss Bryson is still Mrs. Baxter. After several New York appearances, Warner returned to Los Angeles as leading man of the Morosco company.

29 mar 2010 · Baxter’s obituary says that he was survived by his beloved second wife of 33 years, Winifred Bryson, a veteran of the stage and screen herself through 1928, and his mother, Mrs. Jane Baxter. I could not find any reports of children.
14 sie 2023 · Baxter married actress Winifred Bryson in 1918, remaining married until his death in 1951. He suffered for several years from arthritis, and in 1951 he underwent a lobotomy to ease the pain. He died shortly after of pneumonia and was interred in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California.
