Enter the following commands depending on the corresponding operations: UsoClient StartScan – Start the scan for available updates. UsoClient StartDownload – Download but not install the updates or patches you scanned for.
29 paź 2011 · Open an administrator command prompt and run: C:\> %windir%\system32\wuauclt.exe /detectnow. Wuauclt.exe is the AutoUpdate Client of Windows Update and is used to check for available updates (for the various versions of the MS Windows platform) from Microsoft Update. This won't force an install.

6 maj 2017 · In newer versions of windows, the WUAUCLT command has been deprecated and replaced with the usoclient. In this article we have included the options and syntax for using wuault, usoclient, and powershell to detect and install windows updates.
There is no inbuilt command-line way to force install of waiting updates before shutdown/reboot (I've heard rumor that it's in Windows 8, but haven't checked). You're best bet is to create a script (VBS, PowerScript, or alike) which will perform the updates and then shut the system down.
