I find most bluetooth remote are made for Android systems, and they don't really work on PC. Tried buying two in the recent past off amazon, and both would pair to the computer and be recognized as remotes, but disconnect and fail as soon as I press any button.

The modern real solution to this is QMK/VIA which allows permanently re-programming a keyboard. But, you would need a new keyboard that supports QMK/VIA. However, Microsoft PowerToys's includes a "Keyboard Manager" that can map any key to or key-combination to media control keys.

10 lip 2017 · I've recently discovered that the media center remote is not working *at all* in windows 10 on two of my PC's. both are updated to current W10 versions/updates. The remote control used to work to control not only Media Center, but also worked to control Windows Media Player, and the PC's volume.
