3 cze 2017 · My biggest problem with the Hodgdon loading data is their bullet choice and OAL length. The cast lead 230 gr is tested at 1.200". The FMJ 230 gr is a flat point tested at 1.200". I have never loaded anything that short in a 45 ACP. The SAAMI max OAL is 1.275". My old USPSA load was a 200 gr cast SWC at 1.250" and 6.0 gr of 231 for 905 FPS.
Winchester 231 is a ball powder, one of the most popular handgun propellants in history. It is ideally suited to 38 Special, 45 Auto, and 9mm standard loads. Consistency, clean burning, low flash, and a broad range of applications make this powder a choice for any handgun cartridge loader.
