29 lip 2023 · #1. I just started using GMS2, and went through the first space rocks tutorial. I wanted to start another using a different template, but when I try to start a new file the templates are no longer there. The template folder, is empty. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling so see if I could get them back this way but unfortunately that was a no.
The File System. You can turn off sandboxing on the desktop targets (Windows, macOS and Ubuntu (Linux)) from the Game Options for the chosen platform, meaning that you can then save and load from anywhere, within the limits of the OS permissions.
Go to your file explorer and go through users->yourname->documents->Gamemaker Studio 2-> (all of your projects should be in here for every game you've ever made) If on the off chance it isn't there, check your recycling bin.

The file menu is where you can choose to change, save or import projects as well as set the GameMaker IDE preferences. The available options are: New Project - This option creates a new project from scratch in GameMaker. It will take you to The Start Page to start a new project.
