IGN DOES tend to give higher scores, but that doesn't make them wrong. I tend to think of it like this: IGN's review describes how I feel about a game at launch; Gamespot's review describes how I feel about it after a few months.
Since so many people go into reviews (either writing or reading/watching them) with their mind already made up, there’s no point to them. You single out IGN, but when I see other big reviewers claim something like Starfield is a “genre defining RPG”, all credibility goes out the window.
