I did one phone interview with the Therapist who hired me, a second follow-up(in-person) interview a few days later. The same day as the in-person interview I sent them a thank-you email. They replied back a few hours later that I was hired.
“Hey, following up on the interview last week. I want to thank you for your time and I do feel like we had a good chat. I’m very interested in the position. What are next steps? Let me know if there’s anything else I can offer to help make the decision easier.” You can be more formal if you like, but don’t write an essay.
