Having done the leader in me program, the school I did it at was not certified as a leader in me. The kids had trouble with the language but liked the lessons. If the program is implemented fully, I can see how it can be positive but so can any program when there is positivity and common language across the school.
There is a lot of dishonesty, too. Their notion of student leadership is bullshit, many kids are only capable of that level of leadership if there is enough adult support and direction. It requires a significant amount of scaffolding and constant reminders.

Leader in Me is a cancer. My district used it for 3 years before cutting ties due to it being unpopular. It wasn't just the teachers; the kids hated it too. The collective eye roll when talking about "being proactive," and "sharpening the saw," was literally audible.
