The broad application of the study of insects to legal matters, including death investigations, is known as forensic entomology.
Body farms can enable the study of insect infestation in a wide range of circumstances, along with assessment of the validity of assort-ed research tools. The insects most relevant to forensic entomology are flies and beetles.
