29 sty 2018 · Today I made a clean installation of Windows 10 from latest installation media. I continuously get UI freezes for minutes. Task Manager shows me a process "appmodel" which uses most time more than 30 percent of CPU. Why it is so and how to fix it?
2 paź 2015 · Initially, whilst getting Win 10 into a usable state, the CPU use associated with appmodel (tiledataserver) with a couple of others (customer experience, Windows Defender) was a real problem, but only for the first few days. Normally, CPU use when idle is under 10%.
Today I found two processes called appmodel. The properties section say it is a executable called svchost.exe located in Windows\System32. What is this process?, can I end it? That's a legitimate Windows system process, and you should leave it alone.

Games are locking up using version 6.0 and I have to open Task Manager to terminate the game's process. Games I have run into this issue with so far are; System Shock, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1&2, Trepang2, and The Talos Principle 2.
