29 sty 2018 · Today I made a clean installation of Windows 10 from latest installation media. I continuously get UI freezes for minutes. Task Manager shows me a process "appmodel" which uses most time more than 30 percent of CPU. Why it is so and how to fix it?
Today I found two processes called appmodel. The properties section say it is a executable called svchost.exe located in Windows\System32. What is this process?, can I end it? That's a legitimate Windows system process, and you should leave it alone.
Doing some Googling, appmodel seems to be something to scale apps based on your computer specs. No idea if it's supposed to randomly use that much CPU power though.
