18 lis 2016 · Yes, a dual band will work fine. Since 2 meters is the lower frequency/longer wavelength, it just looks like a 2 meter antenna. Keep in mind, though: A 2 meter quarter wave is an odd 1/4 wave of 70cm. I've used 19" quarter wave whips on dual band radios with very good results. Putting the antenna on an analyzer shows it does both 2m and 70cm ...

After retiring and making the move to Florida, I purchased my first ELK antenna which was the Elk 2M/440L5 Dual-Bander, I dabbled with it for a compact antenna to use within my new 55+ community strictly for 2m & 70cm SSB, FM and repeater activity. Well; this is where it all comes together.
It is actually designed for resonance at 146 MHz, but serves nicely as a dual-band antenna. SWR ranges from <2 to flat on all frequencies on 2m and 70cm. Construction is similar to N4AIT's, except there is only 1 radiator and all radials are the same length.
W7LPN 2m/440 vertical dipole. The project below is my own design for a dualband vertical dipole for 2 meters and 440. It requires a balun and works very well. I like to tinker, so when I finish one project, I go on to another, even if it works well.
My new daily use dual band antenna, based on the results, is the ComPac 2/440+ . I should note that in addition to the other factors multi path was not noted with that antenna. However the Larson will remain my open road antenna of choice.
