Drawing upon multiple literary, critical, and theoretical tradition, geocritical or spatial literary studies today present many different ways of approaching questions of space, place, or geography and literature.
Although literary geography as a research subject is relatively narrow, articles are published across a notably extensive scale of geographic journals, some specifically culturally oriented. Others are more generally focused, such as Annals of the Association of American Geographers and Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers.
