Learn how our antibodies are validated in Western blot, and find the protocols you need to be successful in your experiment. Western blot detects proteins separated on a gel by their size and targeted with specific antibodies. The protein separation is performed by gel electrophoresis.
Detailed protocol for the transfer of proteins and staining for western blot. Includes visualization of proteins in gels, transfer and development methods.
20 lut 2022 · Western blotting is a technique that uses specific antibodies to identify proteins separated by size through gel electrophoresis. The immunoassay uses a membrane made of nitrocellulose or PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride). The gel is placed next to the membrane, and an electrical current is applied.
What is Western Blotting? The Western Blot (or immunoblot) technique uses antibodies to detect protein targets that have been bound to a membrane. It was introduced in 1979 by Harry Towbin’s research lab in Switzerland.
Western blotting uses antibodies to selectively label proteins of interest from lysed cell or tissue samples to measure size and abundance. +1 (314) 370-6046 or Contact Us
