MIAMI (AP) - Wes Farrell, a 1960s pop songwriter whose hits included Han On Sloopy, died of cancer Thursday, Feb. 29, at 56. Several of his songs became Top 10 singles, including Come a Little Bit Closer, recorded by Jay and the Americans in 1964, and Come On Down To My Boat, recorded in 1967 by Every Mother's Son.
