In the deepest depths of his mind he encounters his Anima. He follows her to the edge of the earth. Lures him to the bottom (his death?) to be eaten by worms and weird fishes. But it’s not until he hits the bottom can he escape (transcend or rebirth?).
One interpretation is that it's a song about someone who suffers from Stockholm Syndrome and is disconnecting from an abusive relationship.
