Metro bus routes 980, 43 and 48 run near the Arboretum. Ask for the McGraw Street stop. If you are coming from Madison Street, you can take route 11, get off at Lake Washington Boulevard E, and walk north into the Arboretum.
The Arboretum provides miles of trails for exploration and contemplation. Arboretum Drive runs the length of the Arboretum from the Graham Visitor Center to the Pacific Connections Gardens. The Lookout Loop and Pinetum Loop provide interpretation of the collections and the history of the site.
The land occupied by the Washington Park Arboretum has been developed and is owned by the city, but the Arboretum is operated primarily by the University of Washington. Arboretum Creek is approximately 4,000 feet (1,200 m) long, entirely within the park. Its average channel width is 4 feet (1.2 m) and its average channel depth is 2 feet (0.61 m).
