You can access the Arboretum by foot or bicycle from the adjacent Madison Park neighborhood along the new multi-use Arboretum Loop Trail. The trail begins at the intersection of East Madison Street and 31st Avenue East and leads north towards the Arboretum.

Follow trails through Washington Park Arboretum to Foster and Marsh Islands on Union Bay. Continue along the Ship Canal Waterside Trail, then loop back to the Arboretum to enjoy late spring blooms and birds. Then head downhill to Madison Park to enjoy shoreline views and to find the hidden Beaver Lodge Sanctuary.
