Whether mounted horizontally like a traditional farming implement, or mounted vertically like a glaive, a war scythe has its roots in a peasant militia looking to arm itself in times of war. A scythe in the right hands can be useful in combat, though it takes a practiced master to be truly effective.

Whether you're a DM looking to issue a Scythe to a player, or a player trying to convince your DM to permit your character to use one, you'll need to roll your own statblock for it; there's neither a Mundane nor Magical Scythe to draw from.

I'd just use the glaive stats. The closest thing to a scythe in warfare (that I know of, as a layman) was the fauchard polearm. There were things called war-scythes; they're basically glaives with the inside of the curve sharpened more than the outside.
