When a code violation is reported, we open a complaint and work toward resolving the violation through a process of education, inspection, and notices. Continued violations are followed by progressive enforcement: Code Enforcement receives a complaint. Department conducts an inspection.

Code Enforcement. Important Notice: As of July 1, 2021, per State law [162.21 (3) (b)], a code inspector may not initiate enforcement of a potential violation of a code or ordinance by way of an anonymous complaint.
