30 paź 2023 · The superficial muscles are the most superficial in the anterior neck, and include the platysma and sternocleidomastoid. The suprahyoid muscles, as the name suggests, are found superior to the hyoid bone, and include the digastric, mylohyoid, geniohyoid and stylohyoid.
8 sie 2023 · Anterior Neck Muscles. The anterior, or front, of your neck has four deep muscles located close to the spine. These muscles help stabilize the neck and bend the neck forward. They include the longus capitis, longus colli, rectus capitis lateralis, and rectus capitis anterior.
Pertinent anatomical structures are numerous and include human tails, plica semilunaris, the vomeronasal organ, levator claviculae, and external ear muscles, to name a few. Atavistic and vestigial structures are found throughout the head, neck, and spine. Some, such as human tails and branchial cysts may be clinically symptomatic.

The muscles of the neck are present in four main groups. The suboccipital muscles act to rotate the head and extend the neck. Rectus capitis posterior major and Rectus capitis posterior minor attach the inferior nuchal line of the occiput to the C2 and C1 vertebrae respectively.
