JULY 2, 2020 — Sharp orange and blue uniforms, rousing musical arrangements, fun choreography, and a fight song and alma mater that spark true spirit in the stadium—the UTSA marching band is the soundtrack to the student experience—and so much more.
The band performs a standard pre-game show, 4-5 different halftime shows, a vast variety of stand tunes, and maintain UTSA traditions, while at the same time promoting positive learning and social environment for its members. This ensemble is open to all university students regardless of major.
The marching membership in university athletic bands is typically 20% music majors, and 80% from majors other than music. University bands have students from virtually every major on campus. Now in its seventh season, the band is larger than ever, with more than 300 members. Student leaders say the group’s goal was to get more students involved in the band than ever before.
