14 kwi 2002 · In my experience with my ft-2900r (same process) just melting the solder is usually enough to get it to stop bridging between the 2 halves. Worst case is that you'll have to get some desoldering braid (cheaply obtained from radio shack) and use it to remove some of the solder on the pad which will remove the bridge.

I moved to a new QTH and, even though I had the RTS programming disc, I dreaded re-programming my Yaesu FT-7900. The thought of entering the info on 39 repeaters caused major avoidance issues. Then I saw the reviews here for G4HFQ's download and I thought I'd give it a try.
