13 sie 2020 · Scammers–the same Philippines-based Author Solutions copycats that I’ve featured numerous times in this blog (also see the long, long list in the sidebar)–are impersonating reputable literary agents and agencies in order to bamboozle writers into buying worthless “services.”
Total scam. See task scams on r/scams. They suck you in with easy tasks that appear to be easy money but then require you to pay more money as the tasks go on. You will never win.
1 lis 2024 · August 2, 2024: Authors are being targeted by a sophisticated scam impersonating reputable literary agencies. The scammers, posing as “Anderson Literary Agency” or “Anderson Literary Management,” are sending emails promising large book deals and film adaptations.
16 sie 2019 · I’ve gotten hundreds of reports and complaints about this type of scam, from authors who’ve lost thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars. I’m also hearing from writers who’ve been ghosted by their scam publishers, and are unable to either obtain royalties or cancel their contracts.

Below is Writer Beware’s most up-to-date list of names and email addresses used by the many publishing/marketing/fake literary agency/impersonation scams operating mostly out of the Philippines, and to a lesser degree India and Pakistan, despite their US/Canadian/UK addresses and phone numbers.
15 gru 2023 · If you have been the victim of this type of crime, or if you are contacted by this company, or another one pretending to be a legitimate publisher, immediately report them to their state’s attorney general. Most of those sites have online complaint forms. Unfortunately, many of these firms are located overseas.
