ESJ has seven Huddle Rooms which are intended for use by students. ESJ’s Huddle Rooms are small conference rooms available to all students, faculty, and staff. At least three people must be using the space in order to reserve. They can be reserved two weeks in advance, up to two hours at a time.
The Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center (ESJ) features thirteen general purpose classrooms and nine state-of-the art chemistry teaching labs, complimented by a wide variety of informal collaborative learning and study spaces throughout the building.
ESJ can upload content to the display screens in the building. Users can submit a single slide that will play on loop along with other content. Slides are displayed at the discretion of the Office of Strategic Communications and must meet certain guidelines.
The instructor’s station is in the middle of the room and marker boards are situated on the perimeter walls adjacent to each of the round tables. One projection screen on each of four walls allows viewing of up to two images simultaneously from any seat in the room.
Time sheets can be accessed for past, current and future pay periods. In addition employees can link to a Leave Balance Summary screen that projects leave balances through the current pay period as well as provides a summary by pay period of annual, sick, personal and holiday leave activity.
C&VS will help coordinate your event in ESJ. Their pricing will be determined by the extent of their involvement and size and scope of your event. Since there is no Classroom Support on weekends, it is recommended you hire at least one student technician. $25/hour, 8-hour minimum.
Each station is equipped with a computer where students may work together on projects in groups of six and share content via the screens with the entire class through a dynamic software package.
