5 lip 2023 · The superficial branch of the ulnar nerve supplies sensory innervation to the anterior aspect of the ulnar 1½ digits (little finger and half of the ring finger) and medial palmar skin. Additionally, it provides motor innervation to the palmaris brevis muscle in the hypothenar region of the hand.

4 paź 2024 · Dorsal cutaneous branch – innervates the dorsal surface of the medial one and a half fingers, and the associated dorsal hand area. At the wrist, the ulnar nerve travels superficially to the flexor retinaculum, and is medial to the ulnar artery. It enters the hand via the ulnar canal (Guyon’s canal).
21 paź 2016 · the internal anatomy of the ulnar nerve explains the predominance of hand symptoms in cubital tunnel syndrome . fibers to FCU and FDP are central and hand intrinsic fibers are peripheral; Ulnar tunnel syndrome . compression in Guyon’s Canal . no involvement of dorsal cutaneous nerve since it branches before canal
9 paź 2023 · The ulnar nerve is one of the three main nerves of the upper limb and plays a critical role in both sensory and motor functions. It arises from the medial cord of the brachial plexus and primarily innervates parts of the forearm and hand.
30 paź 2023 · The interphalangeal joints of the hand receive innervation from the proper palmar digital nerves, arising from both the median and ulnar nerves. Specifically, digits 1-3 and the lateral half of digit 4 are innervated by the median nerve, while the medial half of digit 4 and the entirety of digit 5 are innervated by the ulnar nerve.
Anatomy of the ulnar nerve in the forearm. The ulnar nerve descends down the arm, deep to the FCU on the surface of the flexor digitorum profundus. At the junction of the middle and distal third of the forearm, the ulnar nerve passes ulnar to the ulnar artery and both lie subjacent to the FCU.
24 lip 2023 · The ulnar nerve provides motor innervation to part of the forearm and majority of the hand. It supplies sensory cutaneous innervation to the medial forearm, medial wrist, and medial one and one-half digits.
