28 sie 2020 · The second scam targets UIC international students. In this scam, a student receives a telephone call from an attacker who identifies as a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent. The calling phone number is spoofed and appears as a legitimate phone number belonging to ICE (202-732-4646).
Odd phone number or web address – Scammers can do a lot to make it look like you are being contacted by a legitimate person or agency. Pay attention to details like the country code, caller ID spelling, and web addresses.

In particular, emails with the subject “Your UIC Job Application (Administrative Coordinating Assistant)” are part of a scam designed to trick students into sending money to the attackers.
