You're better off moving your car to an A or B spot on main campus at like 5pm if you're staying that late (since after like 4 or 4:30 you can park in A and B spots with D permit). Gliderport is P386, you can see it on UCSD maps.
If you're coming from the south and take the Gilman exit to UCSD, the residential area on the way has a bunch of parking and you can take the Superloop bus the rest of the way to campus or it's like a 5~10 minute walk.
If you want to get the cheapest parking, look up the hours for the D, S, and NW parking permits above and be strategic about when you use which one. If you don’t want to worry about all that, just get an S or D pass whenever you come to campus and park.
