27 mar 2024 · A study showed the sensitivity for detecting mast cell tumor in the spleen is only 43% and 0% in the liver. This study found dogs which had cytologic spread of mast cell disease in the liver or spleen had a survival time of only 100 days versus dogs without spread had a survival of 291 days. All these dogs had high-grade mast cell tumors.
