Trench cutters & Cutter systems. Whether limited spatial conditions, hard subsoil or large trench depths: The robust cutters and cutter systems from Bauer achieve top performance even under the most challenging conditions.
The main function of a trencher is to work the soil, digging the trench. The machine is equipped with a milling head equipped with rotating knives or teeth. These blades penetrate the soil and gradually remove the material as the tiller moves forward.
Bauer trench cutters have repeatedly been employed on challenging projects. Typical examples are the construction of a 70 m deep cut-off wall in the Indian Himalayas, or the installation of cut-off walls to a depth of 120 m with boulders and hard rock at the Peribonka hydro-electric power plant in Canada.
Our macro-trenchers are machines and associated trenching tools, with trench widths ranging from 180mm to 910mm. These machines are primarily dedicated to networks such as gas, water, electrical for low-medium-high and very high-voltage, telecom, public lighting, road drainage, etc.
Whether you’re operating a trench, open cast or contour mine, the Gainwell highwall mining system can extract coal affordably and safely. Open cast: Highwall mining is used to mine coal from underneath the final highwall, when the strip limit is reached due to economic reasons or surface conditions.
QTrenchers are SMD’s fourth generation trenching ROV. Subsea power available ranges from 400hp through to 2800hp all able to free fly with track upgrades. Heavy tracked trenchers are available in a range of chassis sizes and power ratings to suit trenching in hard ground up to 50MPa.
Microtrenching is a technique where a very narrow trench is cut into the pavement—usually close to the seam—where the road meets the curb. Once the line is laid, a grout compound is used to fill in the trench. The seam is then sealed, which protects the line while restoring the integrity of the road surface.
