The Tivoli opened October 21, 2019, at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art with Buster Keaton’s “The General”, accompanied by music composed and performed by the Alloy Orchestra. Other films brought back include the Christmas favorite, “Miracle on 34th Street” and the MGM classic, “Dinner at Eight”.
The Tivoli Theater was one of three threaters with the same name in Kansas City. This opened October 2, 1926 with Jean Hersholt in “The Old Soak” with 1,000 seats. This neighborhood theatre was located on Indiana Avenue at E. 25th Street in the Montgall Park neighborhood.
