IMHO, there is no single site that can provide you unbiased news. You have to read all over the places and form your own opinion if those news that you are reading sounds logical and true or not. I read FMT, Mkini, Malaysia Today ( yes that crap RPK stuff to read his crap views), Twitter, Reddit.
I didn’t see the first topic published in either Malaysian paper, and the second was covered much more quickly by Strait Times. I’d like to find a source of reliable, up to date, well written information on the news in Malaysia. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest a combination of Malaysiakini and Malay Mail - MK is very politics-heavy but the news reporting (not the opinion pieces) is quite solidly fact based and well sourced, while Mail gives a good mix of local interest/ non-political news.
