The consensus at the time was that Hawaiian Telecom (presumably DSL service) could be cheaper but had significantly worse latency to the mainland compared with Spectrum (then called Oceanic Cable). I went with Spectrum and was happy.
I've been with Oceanic Tine Warner for 12+ yrs.. Their cable has gone out so many times that they've issues numerous credits, it got so bad that it would go out 5x or more a day. I finally cut the cord and now use Netflix, Chromecast, Amazon Prime, Hulu to watch all my shows.
25 lis 2003 · Time Warner Oceanic is our cable provider and so far my HDTV selection is slim.. KITV (ABC) iN Demand HD 1&2. HBO HD. Showtime HD. They used to offer KGMB (CBS) but the station stopped transmitting their HD signal.
The Htel fiber service is the best on island hands down. I live in Chinatown and have the bundle (tv/Internet)service. I get around 50mbs. It's not even about just the speeds; their customer service blows oceanic out of the water. They are very professional and accommodating.

We have Hawaiian Tel's DSL service on Maui. We've upgraded to the faster level, but we still have to restart the network several times a week.
