Do you know if Yahoo recently (or always) had some update on how much much you can request from Yahoo's Finance server? If so, does anyone know the upper limit or threshold? Is it over time or max number of daily requests?

Yahoo finance API is basically a screen scrape I believe, not a real API. The data also has a 15 min delay; so that could be why you don't see anything at 9:30. I use Alpha Vantage for real time data, but you are limited to 5 API calls/min and 500 a day unless you get a premium subscription.
Why are prices often delayed 10 minutes? For example I am looking at the DXY index, why is Bloomberg delaying the quote by 10 minutes? I pulled up the DXY page on Yahoo and from what I can see Yahoo is updating the price of DXY in real time. Is the Yahoo quote not actually in real time?

There are 2 files that get prices (realtime ticker and delayed): delayed.py As the name suggests, it gets the last tick price of one or more symbols through the (documented) Yahoo Finance API, which can be up to 15 minutes delayed.
7 wrz 2012 · Can someone tell me what's behind the 20 minute delay on stock prices/charts on sites such as Yahoo Finance and eTrade? Is this simply how long it takes for data to be released by the ASX, or do I need to pay a premium website a subscription fee to access live charts/quotes?
