12 cze 2024 · The thermospheric density and its variations are crucial to aerospace activities as well as space weather research and operation. However, due to the difficulties in observing the thermosphere, there has been a lack of effective descriptions for the general characteristics of thermospheric density.
9 cze 2022 · We examine characteristics of the seasonal variation of thermospheric composition using column number density ratio ∑O/N 2 observed by the NASA Global Observations of Limb and Disk (GOLD) mission from low-mid to mid-high latitudes.
5 mar 2022 · A new approach has been developed to assimilate Global-Scale Observations of Limb and Disk (GOLD) T disk in whole atmosphere community climate model with thermosphere-ionosphere eXtensions which is validated using independent measurements. Analysis states of both the thermosphere and ionosphere show improved agreement with independent measurements.
6 sty 2022 · Key Points. Large (∼50%) quasi-27-day solar rotation effects are revealed in Mars' thermosphere density (150–250 km) Solar rotation effects are strongest at higher altitudes (200–250 km) CO 2, the most abundant species, has a higher slope on the nightside than the dayside. Plain Language Summary.
ΣO/N 2 has been shown to be a key indicator of how thermospheric composition is perturbed at high latitudes and how the perturbed air is transported and evolves temporally as a result of dynamical forcing.
Abstract We developed an empirically determined, data-driven method to extract the ionospheric and thermospheric contributions in the Thermosphere Ionosphere Mesosphere Energetics and Dynamics/Glob...
30 sie 2021 · In this study, we analyze the thermospheric density data provided by the Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer during June–August 2010–2013 at ∼260 km altitude and the Challenging Minisatellite Payload during June–August 2004–2007 at ∼370 km altitude to study high latitude traveling atmospheric disturbances (TADs ...
