Civil service law requires that candidates for most New York City jobs take and pass an exam before they can be hired.
If you meet the basic requirements of the job, you can apply for your exam online or at one of our testing centers. Our testing centers are located in every borough and are open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., except major holidays and scheduled closures.
