Constructed in 1901, this rectangular wood-frame building served as the Taylorsville Signal newspaper office until the late 1960s. Hattie and Marie Watkins took over the newspaper in 1930 after the death of their father, James Thomas Watkins, who had been the editor of the paper since 1905.
