The Columbus Museum of Art (CMA) is an art museum in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Formed in 1878 as the Columbus Gallery of Fine Arts (its name until 1978), [ 3 ] it was the first art museum to register its charter with the state of Ohio.

This is a list of museums in Columbus, Ohio and non-profit and university art galleries. The city's first museum was the Walcutt Museum, opened July 1851. At its opening, the museum had about six wax figures and a few paintings.
The museum primarily exhibits the Pizzuti family's collection, estimated in 2018 at about 2,400 works of contemporary art. [1] The three-story Pizzuti Collection building in the Short North was built in the 1920s and has 18,000 square feet (1,700 m 2 ).
A public modern art exhibition space of the Columbus Museum of Art that features two floors (stairs or elevator accessible) that changes periodically. Our recent visit was a collection of about 100 American contemporary photographic works - “I Hear America Singing”.
