We accept simultaneous submissions. We will respond to all submissions within 3 months. Submit one or more of the following: a short story between 1,000-2,500 words; up to 3 poems; a non-fiction piece between 900-2,500 words. Writers of color, emerging writers, and international writers are encouraged to submit.
QBR will post your review on the QBR website for discussion and comment. Books in all genre (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children's, etc.) are welcomed. There is no fee for posting a review. All submissions are subject to editorial evaluation.
All submissions must be submitted in a word document. Our workshop fee is $45 per submission. We welcome poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction by published and unpublished writers. We accept simultaneous submissions. We read all submissions within three months and will contact you if we’re interested in publishing your work.
We encourage you to read Black Warrior Review before submitting. Sample issues are available for $15; one-year subscriptions for $25.
When you submit your book to Discovery, it will instantly be available to over 2,000 reviewers on our platform. If a reviewer selects your book, they’ll write an insightful review that will appear on the Discovery site, and you can also use pull-quotes from the review on your promotional materials.
