LA Animal Services offers alternative solutions to help keep pets and families together, that include Home to Home, Pet Food Pantry, and helpful resource guides, and we work closely with intervention groups who will provide assistance with pet retention.
The Department of Animal Care and Control is one of the largest and most progressive animal control agencies in the United States. Its six animal care centers serve unincorporated Los Angeles County and 49 contract cities with a combined total population of over 3 million residents.

All animals adopted from one of our animal care centers are eligible for a free veterinary exam (within seven days of adoption) by any participating member of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association. A list of participating veterinary locations can be found here:
