School History. T.F. North High School dates back to 1917 when Wentworth High School was organized and housed only Calumet City students. On April 12, 1924, the Thornton Fractional Township District was organized, and Thornton Fractional Township High School opened in March of 1926.

History. Thornton Fractional North High School is located in the southeastern corner of Cook County, approximately 25 miles south of Chicago’s Loop. Originally built in 1926, Thornton Fractional High School traditionally served generations of middle-class, hard-working families.
Thornton Fractional Township High School District 215, more commonly known as T.F. District 215, is composed of two high schools, the supplementary Center for Academics and Technology, and the Center for Alternative Learning.
