The Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia & Learning Disorders’ outreach services allow us to expand our mission and help thousands of children through support services for parents and educators. Our staff has developed curricula that have taught hundreds of thousands of children to read.
The Scottish Rite Learning Center of West Texas, a charitable endeavor of the Lubbock Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, offers reading, handwriting, and spelling therapy for students with dyslexia. No charges are made for the services of the Learning Center to students or their parents.
3 paź 2023 · With Take Flight, students will learn all 44 sounds of the English language, 96 letter – sound correspondence rules and 87 affixes. The student will also learn spelling rules for base words and derivatives. Practice opportunities are also provided that are designed to improve oral reading fluency.
The Scottish Rite Learning Center of West Texas offers a dyslexia therapist training course which provides an opportunity for teachers to learn a curriculum and strategies that are recognized as being effective for teaching students with dyslexia.
