2 lis 2005 · The William Optics Megrez 80 II ED triplet Apochromatic surprised me and not only because of its outstanding color-free performance... It surprised me in many ways, so I definitely want to add my experiences to what has been written about this extraordinary telescope.
As the Equinox-80 has a wide field of view of around 2º, it performs as a rich-field telescope. As such, it gave excellent views of large objects such as M45, the Pleiades, and M31, the Andromeda Galaxy.
This instruction manual is applicable to all the models listed on the cover. Take a moment to find the model closest to your telescope on p.2 and p.3. Follow the instructions for your specific model in the manual. Read the entire instructions carefully before beginning. Your telescope should be assembled during daylight hours.
One of the weak points in cheap, basic telescope packages is often the mount, which can prove to be sloppy and quite loose in operation, but this isn’t the case with the Starbase 80. Plenty of thought has gone into making this altaz mount one that is rigid and sturdy, which provides good support to the telescope.
